Make A Difference

I want to extend my hand for those who are in need. I really love Oprah Winfrey, she is my inspiration and as an individual, in my own little way, I may not have a "BIG GIVE" like one of her shows but starting in a "SMALL GIVE" is a way to make a difference.
After I saw the destruction of typhoon "Pepeng", I immediately asked the help of those children in the picture, they are my neighbors and cousins. It started with my piggy bank, and they went to every door knocking and asking for little help for typhoon victims.
After we collected some money from generous people, I went to grocery and bought some things and foods that we can give.

I was so happy for they are so helpful and sharing their time without any question. At young age, they knew that they are lucky that's why extending their hands are worth it.

Children like them are such a blessing! Their kindness are appreciated.

Opening My Eyes

After the typhoon "Pepeng", we really wanted to visit the 2nd house that we are taking care but unfortunately, we cannot enter the way going in that barangay because their streets were blocked with so many dirt. But, on the second day, vehicles can already pass.

On our way, we saw this wall. It's frightening!
People told me that they thank for this gate because it strains all those huge bark.

It was the second day, after the typhoon, I saw people staying in the house we take care and they started to tell me their stories.
That night, when typhoon "Pepeng" came, water from the river started to rise, people are running outside and looking for a higher place where they can go and that's the reason why they are their. When I enter inside the house, I saw the ceiling, my heart was touched... for I can picture what happened that night. It was so dark, and with the help of their flashlight, they destroy the ceiling and put a string where the children can used it as a ladder, for the water is already above their heights. Their parents stand in a plastic chairs, waiting for the water to subside. I am thankful for them for they survived but I am sorry for them for they have relatives who died during that typhoon.

From A Stormy Seas

Finally, I'M BACK!
(from a week full of challenges and life lessons)

This is the place where I am staying and I certainly say, I am still lucky!
Sleepless night, with prayers as my weapon, asking the rains will stop.
Finally, around 3 AM, water slowly subsides.

Definitely, life must go on...

We first clean the houses,we take care.
Laziness is not an option.

It's a sunny day, but what a difficult day!
Who am I to react, for others got more problems than me.

What a hard day of work, and need more days to cope.

Giving

My computer was damaged by the typhoon Pepeng that's why I just rented in a computer cafe just to update some stuff. Probably for the following few days I will be absent for the reason that I need to do some important things. Tonight, my cousins and I will sort a little goods to give and share for those that was affected by the typhoon. I am still so lucky for my family and I survived. I will post someday all the things that I will be doing ,for the moment, I will spend my time for more important things. Thank you for those who will continue to click my advertisement. My apology.

Reaching Out

" Very often, we hear people complaining about conditions in our country and always putting the blame on someone else. It is good that(someone else) believes that the answer to our problems lies in each and every Filipino. Each of us should ask ourselves- What can I do for my country?"(President Corazon C. Aquino, 1986-1992) Typhoon Ondoy affected every lives of Filipino people. Filipinos are born generous at heart, they will extend their hands as fast as they can as much as possible. They may be from far places, they still remembers their roots. In the world of medias, artists and other Non Government Organization's , they are really a big,big help for within 24 hours, they are always there with the volunteers, sorting and reaching out all donations that was given.

How Old is Old?

cathara is asking, How old is old?

And for me, I say;

Old, in positive side, it's when you still felt the unconditional love of your family for they are still at your side in times of joy... celebrating with you- the beauty of life.. may it be simple, and still with you in bad times... having a sleepless night beside you in times of sickness. But I pity, old in negative side, when you no longer felt the warmth of your love ones because they send you in the home for the aged.
My friends what are your answers to Cathara's questions?
